You could describe it as a creative blackhole. Something will jump into my mind but before I can start or motivate myself to get started the idea has vanished like Houdini. Maybe it's all the crap and explosives that are floating around in my mine field brain...... Maybe I'm just losing my ability to take creative ideas and and realize them. Maybe I just need to figure a way to sling shot myself from this area of mundane boredom and lack of commitment. I honestly just can't even see up from down right now. Here I am this creative guy been doing this stuff my entire life and right now I couldn't color myself outside the lines of coloring book!!!!!!

So where do I grow when I don't know where to go. Pretty good question huh...... I'm trying to pull all this Graphicjacks business stuff together in hopes of getting my own thing started but maybe all the techo garbage is just wearing me out. Websites, blogs, twits, social networking building, organizing seriously what the crap. I need a vacation not some time off but a real vacation from life to an unknown place for some adventure. I need to find a way to get back to my inner child where things were simple and being creative was my vacation.

Any suggestion I'm game!!!!!!!

graphicjacks@aol.com

Here goes nothing......

So after much deliberation I've decided to give this blogging concept a go. After a couple hrs of fiddling "OK" maybe more than a couple of trying to offer the most advanced, user friendly, Awww inspiring page on the entire web...... I resigned to just getting a simple starter offering out there and not loosing my sanity along with the rest of my hair:)

So here I am typing away for whomever unlucky soul may trip upon my rambling. So a little about me. Nothing to radical. I'm 35, a lifelong artist, and similar to many others continuing to follow that treacherous path leading everywhere but the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

I am basically almost halfway through this life and still trying to figure what I'm gonna be when I grow up. I love being creative and the way it makes me and others that appreciate my work feel. There is no high or accomplishment quit the same as completing a piece of art no matter the media and being proud of it. Which leads me here. I was just going through some old business cards of fellow artist yesterday since I collect them when after cross referencing some with web sites I stumbled upon this tattoo/illustrator that captured my attention and creativity. http://amoryabbottillustration.blogspot.com/ It wasn't his great talent or ideas that got me going but rather simply his passion and energy. I loved his blog specifically his "Cat On Bed" entry that just awoke something in me. A simple idea of simply drawing his cats quickly every night before bed was awesome. The character, love and passion he shows and expresses through his words and drawings really lit a fire beneath me to get motivated and creative. Maybe I need to get out of this claustrophobic box I've been living in and start doing more of what I love and was created to do....... So This is the beginning of a new chapter that hopefully finds some rejuvenated energy and freedom to be passionate about what I love doing even when not getting paid. It's a strange thing how when you take something so simple and free and try to turn it into something to profit by it become less of what it is and was ever meant to be. Creativity for the sake of love not money. When we put chains, limits and expectations on the things we love we stifle exactly what it is we want to receive in return.

So here's to a new start and a breaking free from too long a time of being creative for the wrong reasons!!!!
